Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Banquet Captain to lead our team of banquet servers and ensure the flawless execution of events. The Banquet Captain will coordinate all aspects of service during events, including setup, service, and breakdown. This role requires strong leadership skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the setup of event spaces, ensuring all details from the event plan are executed precisely, including table arrangements, decor placement, and service stations.
• Lead and direct banquet servers during events, providing clear instructions and support to ensure high standards of service and guest satisfaction.
• Act as the primary point of contact for event organizers and guests, handling inquiries and resolving any issues that arise promptly and professionally.
• Coordinate the timing of food and beverage service with kitchen and bar staff to ensure seamless delivery and adherence to event schedules.
• Complete accounting paperwork for each event and calculate tip-outs/commission for staff who worked the event
• Conduct pre-event briefings and post-event debriefings with the team to review performance, address any issues, and gather feedback for improvement.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, and manage the cleaning and storage of all banquet materials after events.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in a leadership role within banquet or event catering, with a strong ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of managing complex events and adjusting priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members, guests, and event organizers.
• Knowledge of food service regulations and standards, with a commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
• Physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to move and lift heavy items, stand for long periods, and handle the physical demands of event setup and breakdown.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event scheduling needs.
• Ability to problem-solve under pressure, ensuring any challenges are addressed swiftly to maintain the quality and continuity of service.

Compensation: $18.00 - $60.00 per hour
